I am looking for approx 13 - 23 acres of farmland and woodland in order to start an organic smallholding. I would like it to be in good horse riding area. I was originally looking around the New Forest but my search is now going a lot wider and I have been looking in Somerset, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire. The 20 acres of land for 60k in Shepton Mallet, 10 acres for 50k in Somerset and 61 acres near Henley on Thames for ?k all sound interesting but I realise you have more available off the market. Could you let me know the price of the 61 acres nr Henley and also of anything else you have which you think may be of interest. - Mr Foster
I am looking into the possibility of investing in some arable land in North Yorkshire (preferably between York / Harrogate / Leeds) or West Yorkshire (Leeds to Selby area).
The land does not require any particular planning, but I would welcome the opportunity to look at land with some outbuildings / derelict buildings for developing into a working small holding. Plot sizes at this stage are not set in stone so I would look any sized plot to begin with.
Could you please let me know if you have anything, or any information regarding my chances of finding this type of land in this area.
- Mr Paul
Im looking for somewhere to expand my dog training buisness, so I would need 1-2 small paddocks to train dogs in. I would also like to build dog kennels on site at a later date to hold the dogs in while I train others. A building to later develop into a 1-2 bed accommodation would be preferable so that I could expand the buisness while living on site, extra buildings would be advantageous for rainy days. Smallholdings once in use or something similar. No near neighbours if possible as dogs may be a bit noisy. Any condition considered.
- Ms Peacock
I am looking to buy a plot of a few acres, with outbuildings of some kind already existing, offering the possibility of growing produce or becoming a smallholding. There is no intention to live on the site and once the land is secured I will find a home somewhere close by. Land with trees or ponds as well as pasture would be preferred and not on a main or busy road if possible but land is increasingly hard to find and all options will be considered. I have £250k available but am hoping to spend much less than that. Hoping for at least around 3 acres and not more than 15.
- Ms Godfrey
Im looking to buy land in southern Hampshire or on the Hants/West Sussex border. Preferably around the Waterlooville/Horndean/Petersfield area, or out towards Rowlands Castle/Chichester, with a general area of around 5miles from each of these locations. I m looking to buy around one or two acres, for the use of grazing and small holding. Road access is essential and mains water would be a bonus. Planning permission wouldnt be necessary, as any living quarters that may be placed there in future would be of a mobile nature.
- Ms Edwards
We are looking to self build a detached family home. We would require at least 1/3 acre for the property itself. If it had an extra field on top of this that would be ideal.
We are ideally searching west of chichester in the PO18 area and up to west stoke, lavant area (PO19?). The closer to the coast the better though. We would consider going through the processes of change of use on any sites you may find eg smallholdings etc.
We are also interested in perhaps purchasing some agricultural land for letting.
- Mrs brown
I am currently looking for a plot of land between 2 and 10 acres
within 10 miles of Bidford on Avon to use for agricultural and a rural
business. We do not require planning permission for a house, but we need to
be able to erect a Barn/workshop to run a smallholding to keep a few
animals and run a small agricultural engineering workshop, therefore we
would like road frontage and utilities (water/electricity). Please could
you advise of any properties to may have to suit our requirements.
- Ms Jones
Looking for a smallholding preferably in Yorkshire but consider anywhere for the right property. Either want to purchase land upto £20k or a house with land (any size house or bungalow or permission for a static or alternative temporary accomodation moving on to building a small eco home some time). If we could live on it then we could afford up to 240k by selling our house. Land from a couple of acres upwards, not contaminated, suitable for growing veg/bio-fuel as well as animal grazing. thank you!
- Mrs Fishpool
looking for a retirement project. Either a smallholding, land for development as a residence/holiday home, or perhaps land without the prospect of planning permission but with a non-permanent structure. As you can see, our plans are not firmed up yet so if in doubt - send us the details - we may be interested! Areas of interest are Hampshire / West Sussex, anywhere in the West Country or Cumbria. Wales / Scotland might also be a possibility. Thanks
- Mr yardley
We are looking to establish a self sustaining small holding as a family concern. We have many years experience and already have some livestock. Existing building [agricultural or other] would be an advantage, does not matter what perticular state of repair these buildings may be in. An essential requirement is water and electricity, or the absolute contractual garuntee that these can be installed with no hitches.
- Mrs Gunter
We are looking to obtain a suitable piece of land to establish a smallholding. We would also require a natural water source. We would need to be within a reasonable distance of a secondary school.

If it is with a hosue or small holding will go to £150k.
