Finding Land Agent

Dedicated land agents are a rare breed.

Perhaps, though the growth of the self-build industry and demand for building land such organisation may start to appear. Currently, if you think you need a building land agent, then you are looking at a land agent, who may have properties on their books with planning permission.

Land agents can be found in your local directory or of course, on the Internet. If you search for a land agent, be prepared to see a list of land agents, Estate agents or even charter surveyors.

Some chartered surveyors can act as land agents because they purchase land on behalf of clients. If you were able to look at the business cards of many of the individuals bidding at auctions, a number would be surveyors.

And what should your building land agent be looking for? A site with planning permission for the size of property that you require. They should also guarantee that there are no issues with the rights of access or anything else that may hinder the building of your own home.

As with everything in life, you should expect the services of a specialist land agent to come at a price. They obviously are unlikely to charge you a finder fee directly but it will be included in the cost of your plot.
